I started Rideabikenz in 2020 with a purpose of providing cost effective, dual-purpose rental motorbikes, large enough to comfortably tour New Zealand’s vast winding highways, and sturdy enough to take on the majestic back country gravel, farm track and water crossings routes. As a local New Zealander familiar with back country riding, and to set us apart from other companies, I wanted to provide a way of allowing an authentic touring experience where you get to include the best scenic highways and impressive tourist locations, with the unspoilt back country mountain and coastal routes. That’s why we offer a range of approved bikes for both tarmac and off road use..
Focusing on quality, reliability and comfort, we chose the Suzuki DR650. A tried and tested motorcycle since the 1990, s for its rugged off-road capabilities, and we also added our own special touches to make it the ultimate all round performer.
All our Suzuki DR650, s come with re upholstered comfort seating and larger touring fuel tanks, wind screens and usb ports. We also included rear racks and top plates, and a specialised pannier frame system for luggage. We installed bash plates for engine protection, and have lowered options, DR,s with raised bars and lowered footpegs for the taller rider, and custom setups for riding 2up.
The constant feedback from all our clientele is that it really is the ultimate adventure tourer, perfect for New Zealand conditions, and priced extremely fairly.
Commitment to safety.
Each motorcycle is regularly COF certified (a commercial certificate of fitness from a separate authorised agent)
Combined with our strict servicing, maintenance and detailing programs means that every bike heading out the gate is in tip top shape.
All our motorcycles have full insurance coverage. With a bond being required on your rental acting as your excess for insurance purposes, giving you peace of mind should any damage occur.
We also have a range of top-quality safety rated motorcycle clothing and helmets available for hire. A great choice for those from warmer climates not familiar with the extremes in NZ temperatures and a great option for those short on protective gear.

A great option for a smaller light weight bike with all the riders’ aids, and a lower seat option as standard. A good performer as a road tourer, and for those wanting a lighter off road option for these bikes track well through gravel and farm track.

A great cost-effective touring option, it’s the staple diet of the road touring community A real pleasure in the twisties, It’s a fun easy to ride upright tourer that eats the kilometres day after day. seat height 830mm it can come equipped with optional Givi top box and hard case panniers. 20ltr fuel tank giving approx. 400 to 450 ks per tank
Suzuki DL1000 Tarmac touring
Chosen for its, comfort and big boy performance clocking up lots of ks with ease, this 1000cc v-twin, offers100hp and carries a 22ltr fuel tank
it is a great choice as a New Zealand tourer, solo or with a pillion rider.

Booking process
Most of our clientele prefer to email us outlining their requirements, Which particular motorcycles, how many required and on what dates. That’s a great time to enquire about any clothing, helmets or luggage required, and to ask any questions.
We then follow up with a quote, and once accepted, a request for a deposit is made to secure your booking. Payment options are attached to your invoice, we accept credit cards, stripe and PayPal, or if preferred, you can pay directly through your own means.
14 days from pickup of your motorcycle, we request the payment remainder

Our Home Depot is based in Christchurch and within 15 minutes from the Christchurch International Airport. It is the perfect location for arrivals and departures, and heading off on a trip of a lifetime.
